We developed the App with Flutter so that the client could quickly have access to two native apps for Android and iOS. The development process was not straightforward as it required creating an application integrated with an existing IoT device, namely a Logbot board that controls Starpool products through probes and sensors.

The App sends and receives data from the board to allow it to control the spa (turn saunas on or off, adjust temperature, etc.) and monitor its operation, displaying the status of the Starpool products to the user.

Communication is possible thanks to a middleware, a module within the App that sends data packets to the board, which are then forwarded to the Starpool devices. Our development team proposed this solution to ensure maximum component reusability: the middleware is agnostic, meaning we can integrate it into other apps that interface with other Logbot boards.

We have also developed a back office to allow the Starpool team to independently manage the content and services that users see in the App. Through Strapi, we customized the backend so that Starpool administrators could manage customers accounts, assign them products, configure wellness paths, and set up available audio content for multimedia playback.

It is essential not only for updating content and services for users but also for enabling customers to manage their own spa experience. Once a user purchases Starpool products, the company creates their personalized account: it is a virtual spa composed of the purchased products, assigned to the user. When the user logs into the app, they will see this virtual spa on the home screen and can interact with their installed products at home. Through the back office, Starpool administration facilitates the connection between the app and the device.

For Acqua Alma, we implemented a functional and technological assessment aimed at developing a maintenance and test plan.
The first step is to elaborate a functional analysis: this allowed us to understand what is in the app and how it works, creating a thorough test plan. Subsequently, we carried out a technical analysis of the existing codebase, aimed at detecting any security vulnerabilities.

This helped us to identify bugs and critical issues, and also understand where to intervene and with what priority.

These methodical and precise interventions have made the app compliant with GDPR, solved crippling bugs and improved the overall stability of the software, resulting in a smooth and pleasant user experience. The success of an application also depends on its overall functioning: if it crashes and does not allow users to perform the promised operations, they will quickly abandon it.

When developing a digital product, it is necessary to have a method of verifying and testing its overall functioning. This enables us not only to release high-quality products but also to intervene in third-party projects, to fix and improve unsatisfactory outputs.

The ideal target is a young audience, consisting of boys and girls between 18 and 35 years, already familiar with online shopping. It is a growing audience, made up of digital natives, used to make use of technology in everyday contexts. Such a young audience is made up of the buyers of tomorrow, and betting on it is a far-sighted choice.

The focus is on an extremely popular product, part of a booming market: sneakers.
An extremely versatile type of shoe, which appeals for its comfort, but also for its ability to intercept trends and fashions of the moment. Hundreds of euros are spent for limited edition sneakers, a sign of a thriving market, open to the phenomenon of collecting.

Instagram and Tiktok have the ability to inspire users, so let’s imagine a user journey that starts from social media:there, desire has its origin and begins to process.
Then, people look for what they have seen online in physical stores, which have limited availability and typically have only a few pieces in stock. So the user runs the risk of not finding what he is looking for, having to fall back on an e-commerce or marketplace, where he has to identify his reference model and choose a size. Not knowing how the shoe fits, and not having had the opportunity to try it on, he will tend to choose the size of another sneaker he already has at home. Different brands have different fittings, so the customer will probably get a shoe that is not suitable for his foot and will then decide to make a return.
Typically this is the path that a person takes when trying to buy shoes online.

Fitting Labsfits right in the space between the user and returned goods, providing support to the first to avoid the latter.

Body Tracking Calibration

• At the beginning of the game, the user first needs to perform the tracking setup. The calibration step starts with a UI element which tells the user how to set-up the phone. An image, with explanatory text, shows the user that the phone must be placed in on its side (landscape position), leaning on a vertical surface and at a certain height, with the screen towards the user.
• Next, the app tracks the human figure: intuitive UI elements indicate where to position the head within a visible frame on the screen. The app background shows the camera feed, and some UI elements show the user where to place his head. This step will automatically continue when the user places the head in the right position and at the correct distance from the phone.
• As a final step, the app suggests clearing the space around oneself to avoid any injuries during the game. Once everything is ready, it proceeds to a brief tutorial so that the user can become familiar with the gameplay dynamics.

After developing the prototype, we subjected it to a sample group of children, both boys and girls, to receive valuable feedback from the end users.

We recorded great enthusiasm for this game, as the children were engaged and excited. They easily overcame the initial setup and the intuitive nature of the interface helped them quickly understand the gameplay.

Thanks to the user testing, we were also able to interview the children and gather valuable information for potential future developments:

• Incorporate new movement possibilities, such as jumping (during the test, some children spontaneously jumped);
• Develop a multiplayer version;
• Offer greater rewards, such as extra levels and the ability to have longer sessions.
